Cruising Stories

Crimson off the bow

2024: Trans-Atlantic

Leaving the Mediterranean for the Caribbean; refits, return through Orca Alley, Madeira, the Canaries, then to Grenada via the Cape Verdes on the ARC+ rally.

2021: COVID & The UK SW Coast

Still in COVID confusion, we cross the channel and cruise the South West Coast from Portland to Fowey.  This is the winning account of the Cruising Association 'Dolphin Cup' for best photographic log of a cruise in 2021.

Beating to windward

2023: Into the Mediterranean

We deliver Arkyla from Lagos through 'orca alley' into the Med to base her in Valencia and cruise the Balearics

Channel crossing

2020:  BREXIT dash to Cherbourg

To preposition Arkyla in the EU ahead of BREXIT, we escape the Solent for Cherbourg between storms Ellen and Francis that brought 60 knot winds to the Channel.

2022: Across Biscay to the Sun

After a short shakedown to the Helford River, we cross the Bay of Biscay, make passage down the Atlantic Portuguese Coast, then cruise the Algarve.  This is the award winning log of the Cruising Association Hanson Cup for best log in 2022.
